What is POLARIS?

POLARIS is the newest generation retrofit system with electronic control and "master/slave" operation, gaseous LPG injection for vehicles with spark ignition engines manufactured by STARGAS srl. The retrofit system comes in different configurations to better adapt itself to every specific requirement. The main components of the retrofit system are:

Hercules vaporiser with pressure and temperature sensor. Elios gas electronic control unit in the version for 3 to 12 cylinder engines. Electro-injectors. Main wiring. Change-over switch. Pipes and relative fittings and joints. Solenoid valves. Filters. Various Components. Structure for fastening the tank to the vehicle. Tank and relative accessories. Guarantee, maintenance and user manual (to be given to the user of the system)

and many other modern car brands are possible to convert using new POLARIS system.

Features of POLARIS System

The Polaris retrofit system is made using the most advanced design and manufacturing technologies, and allows a new generation of LPG systems to be installed on vehicles.

The performances of the modern ÈLIOS gas ECU makes the “master/slave” management of electronic injection for LPG in the gaseous phase, in controlled ignition engines with or without lambda probe and catalytic converter.

In the “master/slave” mode, the gas ECU (slave) elaborates the injection signals coming from the car’s original petrol ECU (master) and commands the functioning of the gas injectors. This means that the functioning strategy of the gas supply imitates the petrol functioning strategy (phased sequential, semi-sequential, full-unit, etc.). This functioning strategy is possible due to gas electro-injectors that ensure opening/closing times similar to those in petrol injectors.

Therefore, the new Polaris retrofit system leads to:

• greater reliability;
• higher performances;
• lower pollution;
• lower gas consumption.

The system is designed in compliance with the most recent European technical regulations and is type-approved based on the UNECE R67-01- UNECE R115-00 regulations, as well as fully compliant with Australian standard AS/NZ 1425.
